Eco-Friendly

GEM cars are 100% electric and emit zero tailpipe emissions. Since they’re eco-friendly, GEM cars may also qualify for tax credits as well as other federal and state incentives. Ask us for specific details in your area.

Street-Legal

Classified as low-speed vehicles by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), GEM cars are street-legal in nearly all 50 states on most public roads posted at 35 mph or less. With a top speed of 25 mph and a range of up to 30* miles on a charge, GEM passenger and utility vehicles are ideal for driving on campuses, work sites, or just around the neighborhood.

Performance-Tested

Each of the six GEM models meets the federal safety standards for low-speed vehicles. All GEM cars are equipped with standard automotive safety windshield glass, three-point safety belts, turn signals, halogen headlamps, brake lights, horn, adjustable mirrors, and windshield wipers. GEM cars were also performance-tested on the same facilities and with the same resources as major automobile manufacturers so you can be assured that safety is a top priority.

Multi-Purpose

GEM cars can be used for many applications - both work-related and recreational - including running errands, commuting to work or school, visiting family and friends, hauling equipment, transporting people, grounds maintenance, patrolling parking lots, or for business services. The possibilities are endless!

Economical

Operating costs of a GEM car are only about two cents per mile. In fact, for about $1.00 of electricity you can drive 50 miles in a GEM car! The cost of ownership is just one-third that of a gasoline-powered vehicle because oil changes and other related expenses are eliminated. Just plug your GEM car into a 110-volt outlet to recharge.

Innovative

Since 1998, the GEM vehicle line has been the market leader in the low-speed vehicle industry bringing you new innovations each model year. New for the 2011 model year is the Energy Monitoring System which records the energy the GEM car uses while charging and enables you to see the total amount of energy that has been removed from the grid. In addition, several new options are available to allow you to customize your GEM car to meet your driving needs!

Ever wonder how the professional ball fields get those stripes seemingly burned into their pristine turf? Ever wanted to get the same look on your pristine lawn? It's actually not that difficult. It's simply a matter of laying the grass over in alternating directions. This can be accomplished to a certain extent with only the mower deck. For more impressive results, you can add a mower striping kit to many John Deere mowers.

Check out the video below for additional information:

How would you like to fill your utility vehicle with the same diesel fuel as your other equipment. No fussing with another fuel barrel or schlepping gas cans around. With the John Deere XUV 855D you can do just that. One of the few diesel powered utility vehicles that actually drives like a utility vehicle - not a tractor with a box on the back.

You might think that diesel = slow. But in this case, that's not true. The 855D will cruise at a comfortable 32 mph. You might also think that 25 hp sounds rather modest for a vehicle of this size. Again you'd be mistaken. That 25 hp comes with a lot of low-end grunt. Which is just what we think a utility vehicle like this should have.

Check out this video showcasing the merits of this versatile machine:

The new kit is designed to hold the grass catchers in place when cutting units are raised to the vertical position for transport. The new spring-loaded system automatically locks the catcher in place when the catcher is installed onto the cutting unit. It allows the grass catcher to be released from either side of the cutting unit by simply pulling one of the release levers, located on each side.

The new front wing latch kit mounts in the same location as the old kit and also provides a guide for the operator when installing the grass catcher. This kit can also be installed on the rear cutting units, if desired. Cost for the kit is $249.

The new kit contains the proper parts to complete the wing cutting units on one fairway mower or two QA5 cutting units. The new front wing latch kit will retro-fit to fairway mowers with QA5 cutting units.

The John Deere 8335R Tractor with Interim Tier 4 engine recently completed testing at the Nebraska Tractor Test Lab and delivered industry-leading power and efficiency.

In the past few months, CNH and their dealer network have been aggressively promoting numerous claims around their Interim Tier 4 (what CNH refers to as Tier 4A) Magnum® Series Tractors and how they compare to John Deere 8R Series Tractors. John Deere has found many of those claims to be untrue, but has waited to dispute CNH’s claims until official OECD Nebraska Test results became available on the 8335R.

Now that the 8335R official test results are public (the CNH results are only unofficial), our hopes are that CNH will quickly cease promoting these false claims. The results speak for themselves. Official press release below:

LENEXA, Kansas – (May 25, 2011) – John Deere announces industry-leading OECD test results for its 8335R Tractor from the Nebraska Tractor Test Lab, Lincoln, Neb.

"This is the first row-crop tractor ever tested in Nebraska that breaks the 300-rated PTO horsepower barrier," says Chad Hogan, division marketing manager, Waterloo Tractor Works. "This tractor delivers a record 306.6 PTO hp in the rated-engine-speed PTO test. This will not last long, however, as our largest model, the 8360R, is also undergoing official Nebraska OECD testing."

The 8335R delivers record-breaking power while maintaining industry-leading fluid efficiency. In the 75 percent of pull at max power drawbar test, the 8335R delivers 15.45 hp hrs/gal.

"That's better fuel efficiency than the 8320R it replaced and up to 28 percent more efficient than Tier 3 competitive tractors' official results," says Hogan.

The John Deere 8335R Tractor was also the first tractor at Nebraska that meets new Interim Tier 4 engine standards.

"These results confirm our investment in EGR engine technology to bring excellent power and performance to our new 8R Tractors," emphasizes Hogan. "Our single fluid approach to meeting IT4 emissions standards delivers a cleaner-burning engine with plenty of power and lower fluid costs than competitive models. Unlike SCR systems, customers do not need a second fluid, urea, when operating these tractors."

This will be an unbelievable event for fans of John Deere equipment and NASCAR alike.

Press release below:

NEWTON, Iowa – April 26, 2011 – John Deere is partnering with 10 of its Iowa dealers to sponsor the Iowa John Deere Dealers 250 presented by Pioneer NASCAR Nationwide Series Race. The race is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. on May 22nd at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa.
John Deere and the participating Iowa dealers will host more than 3,000 customers during the race. Jeff Oldham, Division Sales Manager at John Deere, explains that the track provides a great venue to connect with their customers.

“Iowa Speedway can hold more than 55,000 fans, and the Nationwide Series Races at this track consistently sell out,” says Oldham. “Because many of our customers are avid race fans, we are very excited about the sponsorship with our dealers, and look forward to an exciting race on the fastest track (under 1 mile) in the nation.”

The Iowa John Deere Dealers 250 Presented by Pioneer NASCAR Nationwide Series race creates a national stage to spread positive messages about agriculture – especially the benefits of alternative fuels. NASCAR’s three national touring series will run on fuel blended with 15 percent American ethanol from corn grown in the United States during the 2011 season.

“Powering race cars at high speeds is the ultimate in ethanol performance,” said Todd Frazier, Pioneer business director for Iowa and Missouri. “Just as science and innovation are constantly improving the performance of the cars on the track, they are helping to develop alternative fuels that Iowa agriculture can deliver.”

Iowa Speedway Vice-President of Sales and Marketing Chuck Spicer believes the John Deere-Iowa dealer partnership is a natural fit given a large portion of their fan-base is tied to agriculture.

“We’re very grateful to have John Deere and their dealers on board,” says Vice-President of Sales and Marketing Chuck Spicer. “Their sponsorship enables us to create an exciting race-going experience for our fans that’s fueled – literally – by one of the biggest names in the agricultural industry in Pioneer.”

In addition to the race sponsorship, John Deere and its dealers will give away a one-year lease on a 825i Gator XUV to 10 lucky customers. You can enter to win at one of these participating dealer locations:

· Barker Implement & Motor Co. Inc., Lenox

· Bodensteiner Implement Co., Elkader

· Elder Implement, Co., Inc., Muscatine

· Ernie Williams Ltd., Algona

· GreenValley AG & Turf, LLC, Mt. Vernon

· Horizon Equipment, Manning

· K.C. Nielsen LTD, Humboldt

· Schenkelberg Implement Co., Carroll

· Southard Implement Co., Marshalltown

· Van-Wall Equipment, Inc., Perry

John Deere is also using their sponsorship to highlight a cause they are passionate about – Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Iowa.

“We’ve invited the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Iowa to choose a wish child recipient to open the race as the honorary Grand Marshall. We want to help raise even more awareness to the Foundations’ efforts to help kids with life-threatening medical conditions,” stated Oldham

Join us at the Iowa John Deere Dealers 250 Presented by Pioneer NASCAR Nationwide Series Race on May 22nd to support Iowa’s agricultural industry and the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Iowa. Call 1-866-GO-RUSTY or visit www.iowaspeedway.com to get your tickets now!

The Unlock website features regularly updated webisodes depicting key features of the new 7R Tractor and combines over the next several months. The first webisode introduces the Guetterman farm family of eastern Kansas and the features they look for in a new row-crop tractor.

According to David Pauli, John Deere advertising manager for large ag equipment, the website is intended to help generate excitement for the new products in a way that gives viewers a highly informative experience. "We wanted to create a continually fresh, novel platform that is entertaining and gives growers unique insight into our new equipment over several months leading up to the launch. Every week they’ll get a chance to see something new and different about the products."

The Unlock website will host information on the new John Deere 7R Series Tractors, combines, and other equipment that will be introduced later this summer.
For an early inside look at this new equipment, visit www.JohnDeere.com/unlock.
